Born in a tribal goblin village in the outskirts of the territory that is now Darguun. This tribe paid homage to nature spirits and was led by the visionary shaman Marraduk, whose druidic-inspired beliefs ran contrary to those of traditional goblin culture.
Marrakech was apprentice to Marraduk, learning the ways of the spirits while pursuing his own skills as a tracker and hunter. He ranged far across the wilderness and unpopulated areas of Khorvaire.
During the Last War, the village was overrun by Darguun forces led by a hobgoblin commander bent on restoring the glory of the Dahkaani empire, including the dominance of hobgoblins over other goblinoids. Marrakech was committed to battle the invaders, but Marraduk commanded him him to flee, that the spirits had a greater purpose in mind for him. So Marrakech watched his village burn as he fled into the mountains.
Afterward, he wandered in search of this destiny, but became disillusioned when it did not presented itself. Taking on jobs as a mercenary, scout, tracker, and guide he eventually befriended the Eladrin Navarra on a journey to Sharn.
While he has earned many honors in the defense of Sharn from the Gnoll army, none of that feels like something that would match the greater purpose that Marraduk spoke of.
