“analyze large quantities of data, plot trends in the Alliance, and develop plans to resolve them.” Her overall purpose was to analyze the model originally proposed in the Drexler Report, outlining that the Alliance’s projected lifespan was approximately 22 more years. Her analysis had indicated that it was closer to 12. Her secondary objective was to identify possible solutions to this problem, with no bounds on the solutions proposed. She had recommended hundreds to the alliance, though she was unaware if any had been used. She had no memory of what happened on the rock, but did explain that the console was used for cerebral data extraction (a CDE terminal) and that “prisoners” were placed into it and raw data/models/formulae were pulled from the brains, scrubbed, and deposited into her array, to the detriment of the “donor’s” health. She remembers being given instructions to begin developing the models and solutions, but does not remember anything past that."
When Asaa not only confirmed the assessments of the Dressler report but actually correct them, showing them to occur even sooner than the original predictions, she was ordered destroyed and the project scrapped. Her tech engineers were going to do this by killing power to her systems, but sensing she was in danger, she opened the airlocks and spaced them all. Multiple EMP charges went off during this incident, taking her offline anyway, but no one survived to actually destroy her.
She is currently residing in the Hephaestus’ computer room, serving that ship as a computer and crewperson.
Valis is represented as a bipedal, female-appearing android with short brown hair and dark brown eyes. She is roughly 5’3" tall and appears to be approximately 24 years old and 135#, though she actually weighs significantly more than 135#. This android is limited to an operational range of staying within 100m of the Locksley, unless she’s within 100m of someone carrying a repeater.
She is attractive, without being overly so, quiet and polite and does all she can to avoid notice. She dresses non-descriptly, avoids contact when she can, and is extremely polite when it’s not avoidable.
She has been lawyered an identity, she’s the daughter of a middle-class businessman on Deadwood, educated in the Frontier and joined the ship during it’s travels.
