Born into then aristocracy as Anna Dwight came into her powers at a very young age. Her parents, fearful for their daughter’s freedom and safety from the church, faked her death for the general populace and stole her away in the dark of night and took her to the safest place they could get her to, the local gypsy caravan. Being only five, young Anna had a very mature grasp of her situation. Hey psychic abilities made her different and thus scary to other people, especially those loyal to the church. Her understanding is that the church would hurt hurt her or her family if she were to stay with them. The thought of her family in danger filled her thoughts day and night to the point of incapacitation, causing a deep, incurable phobia of discovery by the church. In light of this when her parents said thier goodbyes, despite how much she loved her mother and father, she was finally able to feel safe and smile once again.

Upon joining the gypsies, Anna said goodbye to her old life, assuming the new name of Vilma Erdely. It was amazing how she was accepted by the gypsies in a way that she never had been before when people knew of her powers. She was soon made aware of one girl in the caravan who was unable to experience the freedom and acceptance she did. She wasn’t made fully aware of why, but the girl Arianna was unable to be around others. Sneaking into her family’s wagon, she and Arianna had been speaking for twenty minutes before she was discovered. Astonished that she was all right, Arianna’s family insisted the Vilma be the younger girl’s playmate. Soon the best of friends the two girls were inseperable. They were even together when the caravan was attacked. They were two of the few survivors of the caravan.

Life in the mines changed Vilma. Quiet and reserved, she will do anything to keep the remainder of her surrogate family alive. They’re not happy in the mines but they are alive for now. She has been training and honing her psychic abilities and the smattering of bladeplay she has been taught. She and Arianna will be free one day and woe be unto any who get in their way.
