Shadows in the Dark is a sandbox pick-up campaign starting in the Nentir Vale.
What the hell does that mean?
I wanted something that we could pick up and play if there’s a slack evening and 2+ players available. So we’re doing it old-school, starting in the area described in the back of the DMG. I’ll put together a few DM basics (encounters, small dungeons, NPCs) and whenever a group gets together I’ll sandbox an evening’s play.
My hope is that over time the world will grow beyond the Nentir Vale, and we’ll start getting some long-running plots together.
But in classic old-school D&D tradition, the dungeons – and the world – will expand just fast enough to keep ahead of the players.
We currently play every other Tuesday evening. Let’s see where we end up.
