A perfect sphere no more than an inch or so across with a finish that varies between a flat white and mirror-finished silver depending on the angle from which it is viewed, the Stone of Shifting Phases confers a measure of Luna’s mercurial nature upon its bearer. While he carries the stone, its bearer experiences unusually intense swings of mood which, while easily controlled, none the less manifest in his behavior unless he carefully suppresses them (observer’s Perception + Socialize vs the bearer’s Charisma + Presence to notice).
The bearer of this stone can temporarily alter both his motivation and intimacies. For one willpower, he can reflexively change his motivation or up to (highest virtue) intimacies in any way he sees fit, with the effects persisting until the end of the scene. The first time this power is activated in a scene, the user gains a point of limit if he has a limit track. This can be (and is most often) used to render a social attack an unacceptable order, but can also be used to conceal the user’s true intentions from magical detection, among other purposes. Whatever the reason, the character’s actions should reflect his modified intimacies and motivation for the duration of the scene.
