Welcome to the Southern Reaches!
At the northern edge of an unexplored continent is the Iron Keep, source of iron for the civilized kingdoms across the sea. It takes a certain kind of person to leave the safety of civilization behind and enter the dangerous wilds. Most people consider it crazy to do so – but not you. The lands beyond the walls of the keep and away from the iron mines are hostile and mostly unknown, but adventure can be had and THAT is what you crave.
A small group of adventurers has once again taken up home in The Spider’s Bar. Using a rough map of the area carved into the top of a table at Spider’s and a page taken from an old journal these (fool-)hardy souls head out into the wilderness to find whatever they find.
A West Marches-style Campaign
The purpose of this campaign is exploration, with the DM as neutral arbiter. This campaign style is based on the West Marches campaign run by Ben Robbins. I’m running essentially pick-up games whenever players are available and have their characters with them. I have Friday nights and some Saturdays open, which will form the bulk of the game sessions due to most of us having 9-5 week-day jobs, but other than that, if I have players and my notes, I’m willing to run.
I started making notes and the starting map during some free time at the beginning of April 2010. I’m creating stuff as I have time or the players show interest. I’ll populate the wiki as players explore. Eventually I’d like the players to post the adventure logs, but we’ll see on that.
Read and enjoy!
