a.k.a. Randy Hardwire. He's a sneaky & tech-savvy reformed criminal on the run from mysterious alien forces of mysterious mystery.
|Career:||Tech. (Space Ranger)|
|Position:||Engineer, Other Duties As Assigned|
|Species:||Human… for Now|
Ripdamat, an Outer Core planet that’s been used as a massive industrial park since before Unification, uses a randomizer to generate the names of newborns. The system was designed to produce names that gave their holders no special advantage or disadvantage in life. However, even near perfect systems have flaws. One of those rare errors occurred on the day [Randomly Generated Human Male Name] was born.
His mother died in childbirth (or did she?) & his father was killed in the First Imperial War (or was he?). He was left without station & without memories. The only thing he had in the world was an odd alien amulet of mysterious mystery, which belonged to his father during his Navy years.
Without any moral guidance or a means to make a living, [Randomly Generated Human Male Name] (nick-named “Randy” by his childhood friends) fell into a life of crime. He specialized in theft & surveillance, skills which were augmented by his natural affinity with gadgets & technology. He helped his delinquent friends supe-up their speeders & other technologic-upgrades. Through his criminal work, he earned the moniker “Hardwire.”

Randy Hardwire & the Mysterious Alien Amulet of Mysterious Mystery
One day in the middle of a heist, Hardwire’s father’s amulet started to blink. It almost blew the job with its electric light show, & by the time Hardwire got the thing home is was practically a fireworks show. After hours of slaving over this new gadget & scouring the data web for information, he cracked it! Sort of… A small panel on the side of the amulet popped open, projecting strange symbols onto his dark desktop.
That night he had a dream. In the blackness of deep space a tall grey figure beckoned him. His eye lit up with an otherworldly glow & in his hand he held a black hole. It absorbed everything in the universe, leaving only the amulet behind. When he woke up, he knew he had to move… and fast!
He ran to the docks, knowing the Grey Ones were hot on his heels. He jumped on the first vessel he could find & hid in the cargo hold.

The Mole Men of Malgenack Mountain
Ahriman – Sometime after takeoff he was discovered by a disgusting creature, like a great jellyfish in overalls (somehow) that communicated telepathically. The creature, named Ahriman, told Randy that he wouldn’t tell a soul about the stowaway, then left to investigate the Mole Men Malgenack Mountain. After Ahriman’s mission went south (Hardwire heard the explosions from miles away), Randy activated the SOS command feature on the ship & saved Ahriman. He snuck onto the rescue vessel & became the second “sole survivor” of the Incident at Malgenack Mountain.

Telana Vongstrum vs. the Space Slavers
Telana Vongstrum – After being rescued by the rookie officer Telana Vongstrum, he accompanied her on her mission to investigate potential slaver activity on Belaire V. She wandered into a bar flashing her badge like a fool & expected answers. What she got was a fight that she would have lost if Hardwire’s blaster hadn’t been so quick. With the help of [Randomly Generated Human Male Name] & the mysterious intervention of “ex”- slaver Ahriman, the case was solved & the day was saved.

The Space Hydra of Zargon VI
Captain Max Warp – After being chased all over the galaxy by the Grey Ones, they caught up with Randy at last on board the ship of Captain Max Warp while it was docked in FSS Galileo. Capt. Warp was an egotistic, hedonistic nincompoop & when interviewed by the Grey Ones said he had no idea “who the hell this [Randomly Generated Asshole] even is.” The Grey Ones left, but their trans-dimensional monster, the Hydra from Zargon VI arrived to tie up their loose ends. Luckily, Telana was able to identify the beast’s weak ties to this universe, & Hardwire could reverse the polarity on the ship’s warp drive to send the vile creature back to where it came from.
