Ando Li, a deranged Watcher, wanted to help his mother create a male Slayer and so he kidknapped Seth.

During a horrific ritual, the “retiring” Watchers were slaughtered by the demon they were summoning. Hiro Sato, a witch, lead a rag-tag band to rescue Seth from the “retiring” Watchers only to find the boy bound to a stone alter and the Watchers dead, save one, Ando Li. Hiro and the others could confirm that Ando had been present during the ritual but evidently escaped.

Trying to protect Seth and to hide him from Ando, the Archers have sent the boy to Bicford Prep in Connecticut. Hiro moved to a nearby town to keep a watch over his “nephew”.
