Raised on a lowly fishing community in Byd Dwar’s World, Jayne took an early interest in firearms. While other children were either learning to fish or lay crab traps or attending school to better themselves with knowledge need to rise up the feudal society, Jayne was taking target practice off his father’s trawler with an old BB gun rifle. At the Parish Fair of his 18th year, Jayne won rifle target completion conducted by Marcus Giaus, a recruiter for the Royal Fusiliers 101st Foot who signed up Jayne for a life in the mercenary company.

Beyond the natural ability at shooting, Jayne found he was accomplished at many of the needed skills in military service. With Marcus as his mentor and guide, Jayne quickly rose through the ranks. Adventures out of his home system were plentiful as an active members. On a derelict space hulk he encountered the xeno Thalein Storm while conducting delicate joint operations with much success. During the same tour of duty an extraction mission was ordered of a disgraced scout. While the mission went sour due to mechanical issues, the extraction was a successful. Additionally, despite ‘multiple attempts’ by a 733rd Field Artillery to irradiate him to death, Jayne did learn intricate operations of both battle dress and man portable artillery that ensured his survival in multiple operations across the Marches.

During his sixth tour Jayne gained the rank of Commander, with only his old recruiter Marcus was his senior. What was to be Marcus’ Big Ticket before retirement something went horribly wrong. One of the junior officers in an attempt to assassinate Jayne, accidently killed Marcus in front of the entire command staff. The only clue remaining after the assassin’s hastened demise was the invoice from a trading company ‘New Valley Enterprises’ and the name ‘Joaidane’. Despite being the next in succession to take command of the 101st Foot, Jayne was devastated by the loss of his long time friend and mentor. He submitted his retirement and began his current quest to find ‘New Valley Enterprises’ and locate the mysterious ‘Joaidane’ and seek final revenge for Marcus’ death.
