Skilled (+1 skill rank/level)

dmund is often soft spoken, yet his intense blue-gray eyes hint at the reservoir of strength brimming just under the surface. Edmund has sandy blond hair and a short trimmed beard. His features are soft and attractive, though his smile is tinged with sadness. Edmund is of average height and weight for a Caldoranthian male of nearly thirty. He dawns the gold-trimmed cowl of his order. Edmund exudes a silent confidence and concern for others that many find appealing. Up until his transformative vision of Eridial Edmund used to walk walks with a painful limp.
dmund was born to in the midst of a harsh winter in Thunlend Dell to a cooper and his wife. There were complications in the labor, and it soon became clear that both mother and child would be lost without some form of medical or divine intervention. In the chill of the night Edmund’s father, Doran, ventured out to the Monastery of Blessed Light, awoke the Abbot and beseeched him come and see to his pregnant wife. By the time the two returned, Edmund’s mother had expired. While it was beyond the Abbot’s power to revive her, he did manage to save Edmund, yet not wholly without incident. Edmund’s foot had become entwined in his mother’s umbilical cord, and was horribly wrenched and twisted in the delivery process. The foot never quite healed properly, and Edmund walks with a painful and awkward limp to this day.Doran tried to raise the boy as best he could, but being of only modest means, and having three other mouths to feed, he made a difficult decision to give the child up to the Monastery. Were the child to become devoted to the cloth, he might receive a better life than what Doran could offer him. So it was that, at the tender age of seven, Edmund entered into the service of Andunai, having become devoted to Eridiol, Daughter of light. While physically slower and more awkward than his peers, Edmund soon demonstrated a propensity toward channeling light. The Abbot often mused to himself whether the boy might not have permanently absorbed some of the healing light that had been channeled into he and his mother on the that fateful night of his birth. Edmund also demonstrated a strong sense of compassion for those within town who labored under the bondage of hardship or disease. Like his Patron, Edmund had a heart for the needy and the oppressed, and frequently ministered by the bedside of the diseased and the dying.
Edmund spent his entire life in the Thunlend Dell and its surrounding downs. Yet when word reached town one day that a plague of sickness had begun to spread within Darkmoon Vale, Edmund did not hesitate in requesting the leave of his spiritual father to journey to the Vale to see of what use he might be to the suffering there.
