At the dawn of his 20th year, Koni Doma discovered Vetious, The Dragon Slayer. In two short years 7 Dragons were slayed. Doma Vetious, as he had come to be called, had acquired great wealth and prestige, but a greater battle was on the horizon. On the eve of his 22nd birthday, he entered the lair of an ancient red dragon. The mighty red dragon held rule over a secured valley, which he used as his own dinner table. This had made the dragon lazy, but by no means weak. Any dragon that survives on this plane for as long as he had is by no means weak, but as the elderly are… set in his ways. A great battle took place, and in the end, Doma Vetious walked out unchallenged. He was obviously in a sadder shape, but he carried his head high and laid claim to the valley. To let the nearby townships know that the Dragon was slain, and the valley had a new ruler, he laid the Dragon out on a great pyre. The pyre was to burn for a day, two at the most, on the northern most tip of the valley. The pyre burned for eight days, and on the dawn of the ninth, the mountain erupted. It flew ash into the air for miles. The ashes that still give a beautiful sunrises and sunsets to this day. The volcano, “Doma’s Folly” as it came to be called, continues to erupt slowly, causing the earth to quake on a daily basis.
The protected valley has served Doma well. It gave him a place to recuperate, as it had a small keep on the southern side. Doma took people on hunting expeditions into the valley, to keep with the standard that the valley had become accustomed to.
Soon, Doma became bored, and decided to put some of the wealth he had collected to use. He financed several expeditions into dungeons and keeps in the neighboring lands. One of the dungeons turned out to be extremly dangerous and cost the lives of the party that he had assembled. A turn with a lich had sucked some of the life essence form Koni as well.
