Thedren Brinetoes was born to a family of Halfling sailors in Korvosa, Varisia. Red-haired and ankh birthmarked, Thedren was given over to Sarenrae’s Korvosan Temple as soon as he could speak. In addition to excelling at his religious studies therein, Thedren’s near life-long proximity to divine /positive energy caused him to develop sorcerous potential.
Upon his ordination, Thedren requested, and was granted, leave to minister exclusively to the halflings of the city and surrounding region. It was his design to improve his people’s standard of living, advocate for better relations with their neighbors, and combat the despair that drove some of them to the worship of Norgorber or Thamir. Thedren had some initial successes in these regards, and was even drawn into several lucrative ‘adventures’ in both the city and the surround, from which he managed to better equip himself (after tithes and donations).
Recently, Thedren’s efforts came to the attention of the Bellflower Network. They offered him a task involving a journey to Ustalav, contacting a certain professor of their previous acquaintance, and inquiring of him regarding the establishment of additional lines of transit for Chelaxian halflings seeking refuge in the Palitanates. After eagerly accepting, and a somewhat arduous journey, Thedren finds himself entering the village of Ravengro…
