The Assembly of Superheroes

KAMEN RIDER / Martin Halm

Transform! The mysterious masked hero!

KAMEN RIDER / Martin Halm

Description

A detailed explanation of the TRI Armor:

The TRI (Tactical Reserve Implements) Armor represents the latest developments in warfare. In addition to providing its wearer protection from all but the heaviest weaponry, it possesses numerous enhancements and weapons to its wearer. Furthermore, it is adaptable, changing out enhancements and weaponry depending on what its user needs. The current armor has the following modes:

Power Mode – Characterized by red coloring, Power Mode is the default form the suit uses. It provides enhanced strength to its user, allowing for leaping great distances, powerful melee attacks, and the ability to send just about anything flying.
Powers include:
Super Strength (2)
Leaping (2)
Melee Attack w/ Knockback (4)
Earthquake (1)

Speed Mode – Yellow in color, Speed Mode provides some muscular enhancement like Power Mode does. Unlike Power Mode, this enhancement is focused on the legs, allowing for bursts of speed unlike anything a normal human can do. The wearer can move fast enough to run up walls, disorient foes with multiple strikes, and generally be untouchable in general (at least, in theory).
Powers include:
Super Strength (1)
Speed (Pace 48, + Pummel) (7)
Wall Walker (1)

Ranged Mode: A blue hue to the armor indicates that Ranged Mode is in effect. Ranged Mode doesn’t enhance strength at all: reflexes and accuracy are the main focus of this Mode. The Armor gains access to two firearms, one on each arm. The right arm weapon fires force rounds that have proven to be effective against a wide range of foes. The left arm incorporates a grapple gun that can be used to provide both enhanced mobility and a way to capture enemies without killing them.
Powers include:
Super Agility (2)
Super Shooting (1)
Ranged Attack (3)
Swinging (3)

NOTE: Everything in brackets is off-limits unless GM says we can have a powerup in the middle of defeating an army of racists.

BIO

Martin Halm was born in 1986, the son of Warren and Sayaka Halm. While an intelligent enough kid, Martin never really took after the programming skills that his parents had. Instead, he was energetic; he liked to run around and pretend to be various superheroes (his favorite was Nighttide). He channeled this energy into learning martial arts after his brother Louis was diagnosed with mild autism; his parents told him that it was his job to protect his brother, and Martin took this idea to heart.

It was during a trip to Japan the the family took one summer that the foundation for the role Martin would take later in life was set. It was there, after all, that Louis first saw the Kamen Rider shows and became obsessed with them. Martin found them neat too, but not the the extent that his brother did. It was also during their childhood that Martin and Louis came up with several secret “code words,” mainly because they were little kids and thought it was cool.

Martin won several martial arts competitions throughout Middle School and High School, even winning the coveted “Fighting on the Street” tournament that was held in San Fernando every five years. After high school, Martin went to a trade school where he learned how to take care of car and motorcycle engines of all kinds. It earned him enough to live comfortably on, although STUDENT DEEEEEBT!!!

The darkest part of Martin’s life began when his mother died in a car accident in 2004 and his father disappeared not long afterward while taking a hike (and the man NEVER took hikes). Still, with the support of his brother, friends, and coworkers, he was able to persevere. Things took a sharp nosedive when two years later, his father’s body turned up and his brother disappeared, both on the same day.

2 months later, Martin received an odd e-mail from a protected account, which contained several of the code phrases that he and Louis had made up in childhood. Following the coded directions, Martin went to a small rent-a-shed where he found the TRI Armor prototype and the Mask Cycle. After putting it on, Martin received a crash course on how to use it by Trilly, the suit’s AI. After spending a day familiarizing himself with the controls, Martin donned the armor and used it to break into a secret facility under Serket Systems, adopting the moniker KAMEN RIDER because of the way the armor looked and worked.

The new armor worked better than he had hoped, and he crushed all resistance in his path, including one Sergio D’Agosta, the head of security there. Martin broke Louis out, and escaped. The two lay low for a few days, fearful of retaliation, but Serket Systems never released any announcements that they had been broken into.

Not sure what to do with his new power suit at first, Martin noticed the increase in crime, and decided to use it to fight crime. Since them, KAMEN RIDER has been a fixture in San Fernando for the past five years. He’s fought against many of the city’s more well-known supervillains, including Trouble Clef, an incident where he played a poker duel ON MOTORCYCLES with the Cudgel, and a rather one-sided battle against the Undertaker (one-sided in the Undertaker’s favor, unfortunately).

The battle with the Undertaker was especially informative, in that it taught KAMEN RIDER his limits. Afterwards, he began teaming up on a temporary basis with various other heroes around the city to defeat foes that he couldn’t take on alone. These connections proved vital when the Beekeeper began his attack on the city. KAMEN RIDER, along with the other heroes that he had worked with and befriended, combined their strengths to take the criminal down.
