Matron Urlvrain is cruel, manipulative, and paranoid; just like any other drow in a similar leadership position. The Guardians have opened negotiations with her in an attempt to find out where Lursa & B’Etor are, to stop the undead scourge, and to stop the ritual that will ultimately bring about the Apocalypse. In traditional drow fashion, the Matron has insisted on a show of competence. And if that show of competence just happens to get rid of an insult to the Spider Queen? So much the better.
