Carric Engstorm was originally part of the Ithlea’s Mages Guild. Like much of Ithlea little is known about their Mage Guild. However even less is known about the group Carric Engstorm went on to help form, The Stonefast Sentinels.

Carric Engstorm is the known creator of the Capture Crystals used to contain the Sealed Demons. The process for creating them however is unknown and the ones The Broken Dawn possess are the only known supply.

After the founding members of The Stonefast Sentinels took on Norontus and the resulting explosion Carric found himself alone. Carric personally witnessed Thorin Stoneslinger die and Bree Slanger lose her leg during the battle and he was unable to find either of them or any other members of the group. Finally he was lead to believe they all died in the failure of his capture crystal.

He went on to form a lab within The Ithlean Ruins and studied all mater of subjects pertaining to life and mortality. His works went from academic to practice until they became disgustedly twisted and in the end were nothing more than irrational, desultory experiments.

Carric Engstorm became a Flameskull. If this came about by his own hand somehow upon his death or by the work of someone else afterwords is unclear. The Broken Dawn destroyed this Flameskull when attempting to stop Malik Silverpalm’s necrotic ritual.
