Virginia City’s resident doctor, Matthew Baker originally hailed from the land of Dixie. But after the war between the states left his only daughter a widow, he moved his family to Virginia City in hope of a fresh start. Matthew Baker is a very competent, attentive physician and is often assisted by his daughter Lydia.
