Tharn grew up in the mountains of Hammerfast in a family of Dwarven gem miners. From a young age Tharn has been interested on the gods. His family worshiped Moridin as pretty much as any other dwarven family. Young Tharn followed his family traditions and religious believes until that one unfortunate day. He was out travel up the mountain on an exploration trip with a few of his friends. The first few days were very uneventful, nice and sunny and surprisingly warm even thought they were quite high in the mountains. After the fourth day a storm front blew in out of the north. The temperate outside drop at staggering rate. The young dwarves tried to find shelter and warmth. All they could locate was a alcove at the base of a high mountain wall. Armanth and Gladuk gather as much wood as they could. Tharn and Smath cleared the camp area as best as they could and started a fire. That first night it was unbelievably cold, but the fire and ale helped to fight it back. As the sun rose it helped little to warm the day. The wind was still howling and blowing snow all around. They spent the day gathering more wood, but there was not much to be found. They also had to fight back the snow getting into their campsite. This went on for two more days and there still was no end in site of this storm. That night there was no more fuel for the fire. It just got colder and darker. The young dwarves were scared but not one of them would admit it.
On morning of the forth day they could not wake Smath. It must have been too much for him and the mountain had taken their friend. They wrapped him up and mourned their friend. There seem to be no end in sight to this deadly snow storm. Tharn had lost his other two friends the next night. There Tharn was all alone, cold and barely alive, then he saw darkness coming. He felt so numb and he was ready to go meet his forefathers. Then he saw the light and her, the maiden. He was ready to go. But the maiden told him his quest has not been fulfilled. Tharn did not understand, and maiden told he will know when the time is right. That’s when he heard them the dwarven rescue party. As the maiden stared to fade away, Tharn asked ‘Who are you?” The maiden replied “I am the Raven Queen.” Then vanished. Tharn passed out.
