A sweet little 10 year-old french girl
Elise is the daughter of Jean d’Auvergne. She has led a fairly innocent and sheltered upbringing in Paris – her father has raised her after her mother passed away many years ago. His income as a Carabinier was sufficient to provide her with a nanny, Felice, when duty called Jean away. She is therefore reasonably well educated and can read French and Latin.
Lately her education has taken a different slant – foraging and wilderness lore have taken precedence over letters and she has struggled to adapt. She misses her dolls and the fairy stories that Felice used to tell her – of princesses and castles in the sky. Though a bit dreamy, she understands why they had to flee.
