Crude Militia Small Arms
The BM-118 assault rifle is a second-tier, general purpose automatic firearm. Chambered with the same 7mm ammunition as most assault rifles, it is the most powerful of the generic assault rifles to be found in the Periphery in any great numbers. It has the same basic statistics as other assault rifles. However, it is the third least durable 7mm weapon, due to its high damage per shot (the least durable is the Perforator, the second is the unique Xuanlong assault rifle). Regardless, it remains a formidable automatic weapon for any small arms found in use around the Hyades Rim or Anterior Space.

The BM-118 AR was designed and manufactured by an industrial conglomerate on Patriarch during the Resource Wars, for the purpose of equipping the fledgling troops of Periphery Liberation Army. To this end, it was chambered for the abundant 7mm round and utilizes a 24-round magazine. Thousands of these weapons were smuggled across the Hyades Rim for use by Taurian and Liao infiltrators and sympathizers, and many remain functional even two hundred years after the Periphery War. These rifles are also proven to be ready for manufacturing in Succession Wars conditions, and the entire gun (except certain high-density parts, such as the barrels) can be manufactured in most well-equipped workshops anywhere.
This weapon is available in large numbers to Iron Dingoes forces, and is in wide use among its technical forces. The weapon is traditionally deployed with the Iron Dingoes “Technician” Infantry Field Kits as a primary weapon, though most prefer something simpler. The only assault weapon usually found in their hands, the BM-118 AR is only out-numbered by shotguns and pistols in common usage.
