Raised as a wealthy scion of a prominent family of Ermine Republic sorcerers, Lucio’s first offense was his utter lack of magical talent. Many more offenses were to follow – starved of his father’s approval, Lucio developed other talents. While his older sister Minara studied magic, hoping to follow in her illustrious father’s footsteps, Lucio spent his time in the gambling dens of Stone Table, cultivating his keen taste for risk and losing every cent of the kingly allowance given to him on a month-to-month basis. Petty theft followed – first for the thrill of it, and then to cover the ever-expanding debts he’d incurred. His father disowned him when he discovered his son’s gambling debts. He attempted to elude his creditors by moving to the slums of Stone Table, but after a chance encounter (read: ill-judged pickpocketing attempt), his creditors once again located him, and Lucio determined that the only way back to his old life was to simply … disappear.
Lucio adopted a new surname and headed for Treff, in search of gold and glory – in that order. The only family member who knows where he is is his loyal cousin and friend Orso, to whom he writes crudely-coded letters occasionally.
