The child of two unsuccessful and impoverished adventurers, after spending his early life unable to find a job, Carric joined a militant revolutionary group. Carric spent the next few years as a scout for this organization’s army. Despite the Militia having successfully ousting the old government, the peasants revolted against the revolutionary’s totalitarian rule. The once great revolutionary army was caught between old government’s mercenaries and a river; nearly all were slaughtered or drowned. Carric, defeated vowed to never fight again.
Carric contemplated their defeat, and eventually arrived at the conclusion that the time was not yet right the change he wanted, and probably would never be. Carric spent his next years wandering the land, searching for reason for his existence.
Events eventually led him to the Adroit Sophists. Carric believed himself only a mercenary at first, but as time went on he become more attached to the Adroit Sophists and the towns they visited. He realized that this group held considerable power; he believed that the group might destroy corruption in the governments.
Carric soon realized that he was no longer his younger self; he could not kill innocents for the good of the country anymore. Having failed again, Carric continues to search for his purpose.
