Ebirk was born and raised in the Elsir Vale. He’s lead a simple and happy life up until now, much different from many of his companions.
He is the son of Thorin and Heljin Belgarsonn, originally of Kelev Dunam on the edge of the Stonehome Mountains. They lived most of their lives as adventurers, wandering the lands from shore to shore, helping those who needed it, and battling evil whenever they could. Thorin was a renowned Earthheart Defender, and his mother a Cat Burgler.
Their last adventure together, some forty years ago, was to the Witchwood Forest near Nimon Gap in Elsir Vale. There, they entered the Underdark to find a Drow slave-trader named Malaggar. They and their companions battled deep into the core of the world itself, and confronted Malaggar. The battle was fierce, and Malaggar’s troupe of cutthroats and thieves were cut down, but, in the end, Malaggar, and a small group of his followers, escaped.
Thorin, Heljin, and their companions released over two hundred slaves that day, including a young Eladrin noble lady. Her mother, Quelenna Andraste, was so happy with the return of her daughter, she rewarded the adventuring troupe with an Astral Diamond a piece.
Thorin and Heljin decided it was time to end their days as adventurers. With two Astral Diamonds, they could live where ever and however they wanted. They moved to the small town of Bordin in the Elsir Vale, a place they visited many times as adventurers, and bought a small smithy. There, they raised their son, Ebirk.
As a young dwarf being raised in a multi-racial small town, Ebrik was outgoing and friendly. He was always fascinated by the stories told by his parents, of danger in dark places and the thrill of making it out alive. From a very young age Ebirk also felt an affinity to his God, the Raven Queen, and would often tell his parents, “The Raven Queen must have watched you that day.” They would simply agree.
When Ebirk was nearing manhood, Thorin and Heljin took him to Kelev Dunam to see his ancestral home. There, Ebirk quickly sought out the temple of the Raven Queen. He volunteered there, and lived with the priests for two years before he was ordained.
Thorin and Heljin have decided to stay in Kelev Dunam and live out their days as iron merchants, taking goods from Kelev Dunam to Overlook and other places in the Elsir Vale. Ebirk returned to Bordin and built himself a small temple to the Raven Queen. There, he lives a simple life of devotion and charity until the day when his heart is called to adventure…
