Iron Talon was born in the Varangian City states as a Pandit, a member of the ruling class. His life in the Varang city states was uneventful until he his own personal attendant came to him and warned him of a planned coup against the current government by the Djala underclass. She begged him to use his rapidly climbing position in the Wizarat, to propose more liberal policy towards the treatment of the Djala and avoid any unnecessary loss of life.
While Iron Talon did not lack sympathy for the plight of the Djala, he was also aware of the tightly controlled nature of Varangian society and was fearful of the repercussions of any sudden change. Consulting with his closest colleagues, they suggested a more hard line stance: any Djala assembling in large groups would be arrested and left to the tender mercies of The Guild.
When Iron Talon pointed out the harshness of this plan, the rejoining argument was that ruler ship of the capitol city of Yane was soon to be transferred to their city and that if they attempted to relax the controls on Djala or were subject to a coup attempt, they would lose face.
So it was with a heavy heart that Iron Talon unveiled the coup attempt to the Wizarat and secured the position of the city. When he returned from the meeting of the Wizarat, he was again confronted by his personal attendant, who with tears in her eyes attempted to kill him by driving a knife through his caste tattoo. Iron Talon turned on his attacker and survived the attempt on his life, but only just. Wracked with pain from his wound and guilt over what he had done, Iron Talon left his home, staggering around the streets of Yane in a daze.
There he was confronted by the Neomah Sinatras. She immediately comforted the disturbed Talon, saying that what happened wasn’t his fault, that he had a greater to duty to all Varangia than to any one population within it. And, she whispered in his ear, he had a greater duty still before him.
Over the next hours, she seduced him in every fashion: she convinced him to give his service to the righteous Yozi cause while she, while at the same time convincing him to give his body to her own. Then the Chrysalsis Grotesque was formed, joining them in every possible manner.
Now gifted withe mark of Cecelyene on his brow, and the dark blue of the neomah on his skin, Iron Talon is now committed to freeing the world from the tyranny of the gods, starting with Varangia.
