Obdurate bounty hunter isolated, abhorred, and betrayed by her own noble kin.
A product of infidelity, Vykka is considered a cursed heiress. Her mother, Brey Pyncion copulated with an orc-blooded man outside of wedlock. Vykka’s father was unaware of the infidelity, and sought and heir or noble daughter greatly so. Upon her birth, it was revealed that the child had certain defects, inhuman eyes and odd facial features. Rather than her orc-esque looks being acknowledged she was touted as being an albino and mutated freak. The other noble families took Vykka to be a cursed child, to the shame and disappointment of her father. Thus her earned named and legend, the White Cherub of the Silver Citadel of Syne.
Vykka’s mother never revealed her true lineage, and blamed the child’s strange appearance on her husband’s destitute fecundity. Vykka’s father was forced to lock away his daughter, hiding her from the city. His reputation forever soured, rumours that he lost favour with gods preceded his political credibility.
Locked away to her own devices in the catacombs below the noble citadel Vykka spent the first sixteen years of her life in social isolation. Guilt-ridden and compassionate for his daughter, Vykka’s father provided her with a plethora of books and knowledge. Vykka grew to love her father and his mercy toward her condition.
However, when Vykka reached the age of seventeen, the elusive orc blooded man who impregnated mother returned and besieged Syne, beheading her father after revealing to him the true lineage of his beloved cursed daughter.
Satiated with the plunder of wealth, the orc-blooded man eloped with Vykka’s mother to unknown regions. The two of them having been childhood companions and separated by the arranged marriage of Brey and the Lord Pyncion.
Traumatized by the sight of her maimed father, Vykka fled the ruined city in the maelstrom and managed to survive alone in the wilderness for some time. Always fearful of the wrathful man that slew her father and wondering of her mother’s fate.
Unsociable but intelligent, she grew bitter and naturally inclined to solitary odd jobs. A strange and arrogant woman with one violet eye and another vermilion, her bony face with white hair and pallid skin earning her repulsion by most passersby.
She decided to undertake the career of bounty hunter, tracking down petty criminals for coin. As her reputation grew, Vykka took on increasingly dire bounties. Her most recent quarry being that of Cyrus Rayim Zsethotep, a man who sickened her by his alleged act of regicide and noble slaying. The bounty placed on his head was a coup arranged to detain the komosian for his suspected hand in the death of his Pharaoh Ebe.
Following Cyrus’s evasive trail, Vykka caught air of his location — travelling to the island of Khaposso in search of rumoured treasure.
Before his departure, Vykka confronted Cyrus. Wily and albeit caught dangerously off guard, Cyrus recognized the White Cherub of the Citadel through the legend he heard of the besieged city. Having knowledge of local events, Cyrus lip serviced her with promises of answers as to where the orc-blooded man was located. All of these promises were bargaining chips for his freedom, and to rectify his own misunderstood past and clear his name of his suspected involvement in the murder of his own queen.
Naive and driven by her thirst for revenge, Vykka was convinced by Cyrus to postpone his capture. Her alliance with him stands only so he can provide what he has promised her — vengeance.
