Aldarion was a student in V’aar Shale in the years before the rise of Lumen. He was studying under one of the prominent historians, who was actively searching for Dwarven ruins. While investigating a potential site to the southwest of V’aar Shale, the cavern collapsed, and Aldarion fell. After what seemed like days of falling through the dark, he hit the ground and lost consciousness. Miraculously, when he awoke, he found he bore nothing but a few minor injuries. He rationed out the food in his pack, and began to search for a way out. He measured time by sleep cycles, and only slept when he could no longer physically carry on. After a few cycles, he noticed that he was slowly gaining the ability to see. He counted 16 cycles of slowly traveling up, climbing and using tunnels when he could find them. At this point, despite his careful rationing, he ran out of food. Over the next 10 cycles, he scavenged for anything edible, and finally made it to the surface. But the world he emerged to was not the one he had left. He found new towns and cities, and despite being in the heart of the V’aarad Empire, not an elf was to be found. He found himself unable to get anywhere close to V’aar Shale, as the surrounding country was filled with strange tattooed humans who were clearly aggressive. Knowing that something was very wrong, he began to search for answers. It didn’t take him long to learn what had happened, and that he had somehow been gone for almost a thousand years. Unable to comprehend what had happened, he set out in search of some way to return to his time.
Aldarion sacrificed himself to open a passage through the barrier surrounding the city of Walsh, so that party could enter and take down the barrier from the inside.
