Description

Celen appears to be a half elf, with flowing chestnut brown hair and paler than usual skin. Both her parents were half-elves with some shapechanging ability from their ancestry. Her father, with lycanthrope blood, could shapechange into a wolf, while her mother was descended from a line of sea elves with ties with selkies, water fey that could take the form of seals.

Growing up, Celen found her shapechanging abilities were often the cause of distrust from the rest of society. her more usual sea elven traits however, were considered somewhat accepted if still unusual. She quickly learnt to keep her shapechanging to herself or risk getting ostracised.

She joined the church of the shimmering one not out of reverence to the preachings of the church, but more because of the attachment shapechangers seem to have with the moon. While some consider her views nonconformant, and perhaps even blasphemous, she serves in her own way.

Celen tends to be secretive at first, gradually opening up when she feels her companions trust her enough to accept her unique ancestry. This of naturally makes it hard for her to it into new groups. With pact instincts running in her blood from both sides of her family, this distance is hard on her, but she has found the few groups she has managed to mesh with lasted longer and grew closer as a result.

Celen retains the traits of both her parents, and is able to change into both a wolf and a seal. in both her forms she has a distinct red-brown streak running from the back of her head down her back. she is equally comfortable on land and in the water.

She wields a Nageshi. it appears to be some sort of double sword, and is often used as such. However, the 3 foot long shark cartilage and cured seaweed haft is surprisingly tough and springy, allowing the Nageshi to be used as a makeshift longbow when strung correctly via a special notch on each blade near the tips.

The scales on her armor are grooved to reduce water resistance while allowing water to drain easily when exiting the water, and a few ridges near the elbow and hips assist in underwater manoeuvring.

These 2 pieces of equipment were from her mother, passed down through generations.
from her father, she got a shard of selenite crystal, a transparent and colorless crystal enchanted as a spellshard, and she treasures it as much as the armor and weapon from her mother. she stores what rituals she knows in it, and uses it as her journal and diary when necessary as well.
