Durzek was born in Fallcrest. The birth was attended to by Grundelmar, a priest of Pelor who saw great auspice in Durzek’s arrival.
When he was young, A storm caught Durzek by surprise, causing him to seek refuge in the House of the Sun. It was here that he once again met Grundelmar. Over the years, Durzek woud spend hours poring over old tomes of Pelorian wisdom.
When he reached adolescence, Durzek made a discovery that frightened him. In his reading, he discovered lines of text that seemed to mention the Nentir Vale, and told of great evils gaining a presence in the Vale’s lands. None of the other clergy were impressed by Durzek’s statements, but Grundelmar saw his interpretations as having elements of truth. He sent Durzek on a year long pilgrimage to learn more about the Vale, so he could better interperet his readings.
While on this pilgrimage, Durzek was visited by Lumiel, an angel of Pelor. The angel told Durzek that his readings were prophecy, and he was chosen to be a vessel of Pelor’s light in the Vale. Durzek returned to Fallcrest as an Invoker of Pelor, ready to rid the world of the evils that plague it.
Those who meet Durzek find him friendly and affable, with a kind word always ready in his mouth. He will readily discuss the righteous path that Pelor illuminates for those who will hear his voice.
Durzek has started frequenting the Four Winds Tavern where he has made connections with a few of its patrons. One night while there, he had an encounter with the mysterious crow-man that has been darkening the tavern’s doorstep.
