Earl Sr. has been the head of the Skjaldbjörn Troll-blooded clan since the mid 1800s. He moved the clan to Pittsburgh during its construction and the clan took many jobs in the Steel industry. Later they made up much of the labor force in the construction of The Pitt. Now because of their gullible nature they play minor rolls in the workings of The Pitt, if any. When the Steel industry died down the clan began taking up different jobs, still mostly in the labor industry. Earl Sr. started “Under the Bridge” Taxi service shortly after cars became somewhat common. Earl Sr. is still very influential within Pittsburgh labor unions and the like. Earl’s mother was somehow taken for a man and drafted into WWII. Her ship went down in the Pacific and she is assumed dead since no one had heard from her. Earl was born in 1874. Growing up the son of the clan chief was fairly easy. He had plenty of friends (mostly in the clan) who respected him, and those who didn’t had the rest of the clan to deal with. In 1934 Earl Jr. was one of the first Pittsburgh Football players, then called the Pittsburgh Pirates. Like many in the clan, Earl idolizes his father. In 1937 Earl Sr made Earl Jr his vice president of the Under the Bridge taxi company to cheer him up after realizing that he could no longer play football as the team rose in popularity and in the media.

Earl jr met Aiyana as she was running out of an alleyway towards his taxi station carrying a baby. She claimed she was being chased by a vampire that had killed the babies parents, but when he and his clan-mates took a look all they found were the parents.

The Skjaldbjörn was having trouble with the Mafia running the Rivers recently and Earl jr enlisted the help of Vincent to get them to keep their distance without resorting to violence.
