Bio
Leni left Kanuba in 1665 with the Avalonian and Eisen crews once a ship was repaired, to see the lands they spoke of. He thought it only fair that a Kanu go with them after many Avalonian’s and Eisen were staying.
He spent a few months in Eisen picked up the language and became friends with the captain of Eisen explorers. Then spent some time in Avalon and while drinking in a bar with a bard swore that firearms where foul weapons with no Lan and that he would never lower himself to use one.
Leni has spent most of his time since leaving Kanuba aboard ships jumping from crew to crew. Mostly getting distracted by amazing new things he has seen since leaving his home.
Leni also loves to cook with any ingredients he can find. The more dangerous the hunt for the meal the better, after what good is a dinner without a story to tell during it. Leni claims to have a cookbook memorised from Kanuba with many recipes.
20 Questions:
1. What country is your Hero from?
Kanuba an Island in the Midnight Archipelago
2. How would you describe your Hero’s physical appearance?
A little below average height for a Thean but tall for a Kanu with a wiry build. He’s a young man with a friendly face warm eyes and a bald shaved head.
He will mostly be wearing the well worn clothes given to him by sailors when he left Kanuba along with a pair of boots he received from a bard in Avalon which he believes have great Lan in them.
3. Does your Hero have recurring mannerisms?
He smiles a lot and is very friendly. He is also still relatively new to Theah and has a great deal of curiosity about new people, places, food, drinks and creatures.
His happy nature and simple language gets mistaken by many Theans as a simple mind something Leni is happy for them to do.
He also has a habit of referring to himself in the 3rd person.
4. What is your Hero’s main motivation?
Opah. This is not the pursuit of power as some would believe, or the gambler chasing luck as some Thean’s misinterpret.
Opah to Leni is everything and everthing is Opah. Good or bad, right or wrong as an Opahkung he sees and understands this and will happily tell others if they want to learn.
5. What are your Hero’s greatest strengths and greatest weaknesses?
His curiosity has been both since arriving in Theah resulting in both Lan and Nal
6. What are your Hero’s most and least favourite things?
Most: His spear – the only thing which he brought with him from Kanuba.
Least: The rain – How can simple weather make these Theans hate the world so much?
7. What about your Hero’s psychology?
He’s a happy person with a strong belief in himself. He has perhaps too much faith in other people but that comes from living on Kanuba instead of Theah.
8. What is your Hero’s single greatest fear?
That he’ll never get a chance to return home.
9. What is your Hero’s highest ambition? Greatest love?
Ambition: To return home to Kanuba years later a potent Opahkung with many great stories.
Love: The only subject Leni won’t talk about.
10. What is your Hero’s opinion of his country?
Leni loves Kanuba he loves his people and his culture. He left because his world had gotten bigger and he wanted the rest of the Kanu to know just how big.
11. Does your Hero have any prejudices?
He very much hates firearms he used one once in Avalon and saw the weapon had no Lan. He swore never to use one again.
12. Where do your Hero’s loyalties lie?
The Kanu and anyone he considers a friend.
13. Is your Hero in love? Is he married or betrothed?
He did have someone in his life but she died shortly before he left. If asked he’ll insist that it wasn’t his reason for leaving. Usually he won’t talk about it at all.
14. What about your Hero’s family?
His parents 2 brothers and 4 sisters are all part of the Lenlil tribe on Kanuba
15. How would your Hero be described by his parents?
He a good boy, good heart, much Lan wherever Leni go.
16. Does your Hero attempt to follow the code of chivalry?
He is unaware of it.
If introduced to it he would still follow his own path but agree its a good way for a man to live.
17. How religious is your Hero? What sect of the Church does he follow?
No Church. Opah. Which is immensely important to him as an Opahkung he sees Lan and Nal in everything he does.
18. Is your Hero a member of a guild, gentleman’s club or secret society?
Nobody has ever asked asked him.
He probably wouldn’t fit into any gentleman’s clubs and any guild or society that offered him a place would have to keep his attention or offer him a goal worth obtaining.
19. What does your Hero think of sorcery?
He has met a Druid before and believes there to be Lan in his work.
He has also seen a Porté mage and heard reality scream as the blood stained her skin and is sure that Nal surrounds that woman wherever she goes.
Leni himself is a Kanuban Shaman known as an Opahkung and believes Opah is an extension of his spirit, his self and his outlook on the world as much as he is an extension of Opah.
20. If you could, what advice would you give your Hero?
Not everyone who smiles is a friend.
