Hazkal was born to a common Dwarf family. His family has a long history of fine warriors before the Wars. Hazkal’s older brother Hrothgar was one of the finest warriors his clan had produced in many years, and Hazkal idolised him. Hrothgar was reported slain in battle attempting to thwart the bandit group of Bartolo Montador, and the families ancestral axe Wyrmfire was lost.
Hazkal was shattered by his brothers’ death, but emerged determined to continue his legacy and help make this shattered world a safer place. He hopes to one day avenge Hrothgar and kill Montador and rout his bandits, making the world a safer place.
Hazkal is very much of the belief that the best defense is a good offense. He believes seizing the initiative is the most vital part of any battle, and that even severely outgunned warriors can accomplish great things by striking swiftly and decisively. As such, despite his lack of speed, Hazkal will often be the first one to engage the enemy, exhorting his comrades to follow his lead, and using his powers as a warrior to protect them from harm.
