Our cast of characters:

Darabont, The Dragon-That-Was: the oldest son of the Great Gold Wyrm, Darabont was ambushed by agents of The Three and transformed into a human. Disowned by his draconic siblings and parentage and despised for his weakness, Darabont wants nothing more than to find a way to recover his scales and redeem his name.

Edaine, Whose Blood Is Iron and Heart is Clockwork: Once a dwarf, now dwarf-forged. Edaine begged the Dwarf King to free him from the shackles of flesh and grant him a clockwork heart. The King granted his request.

Kita, The Avenging Angel: Once a paladin sworn to the Great Gold Wyrm, Kita’s allies slit her throat and left her for dead for an unknown reason. Unfortunately for them, the Elf Queen‘s court found Kita before she could bleed out, and Sidhe sorcerer’s brought her back from death’s door. Now Kita hunts for her betrayers, and prays she finds them before the Sidhe begin to ask for payment.

Kylar Stern, The Mortal Sword of Healing: Kylar Stern is, to the best of the 13th Age’s knowledge, the first mortal godded by Phaethe, the Aionic goddess of healing. Why he sold his soul to Krystax the Defiler is still unknown.

Michaelangelo, The Thief of Dreams: Called “the Wakeful” in Shadow Port, no one knows why Michaelangelo is cursed to never sleep. Why he stole the Dwarf King’s fondest dream nearly a year ago and gone into hiding is an even bigger mystery – and one that might spell the end of this 13th Age.

Rosemary, The Divine Archive: Chosen of Kelin The Law-Giver, Rosemary’s father is the Archmage and her mother a mystery. She is the living personification of Divine knowledge – but why did Kelin choose the Archmage’s daughter as her Voice? And why did her father allow this?
