Welcome to Thundercliff Academy. Far from the rigid and formulaic teachings of the likes of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry and nestled high in a remote part of the Sierra Nevada Mountains students of the academy learn a far different form of magic than the uniform classrooms of the European model wizards. Here, magic is more primal, more unrefined, and more personal. The first wizards to travel west across the United States found themselves far from the support of older institutions, for better or for worse. They encountered native shamans and were forced into extraordinary circumstances just to survive, and over time their magic shifted to accommodate this new environment. Here, as in days gone by, students are taught by individual masters, and must learn for themselves how to master the arcane power which is their birthright.
