Welcome to the island of Thronehold, historical site of the signing of the Treaty of Thronehold
With the signing of the Treaty of Thronehold, the Last War officially came to an end. Or at least that’s what they want you to believe. Though open warfare has tremendously died down in the past two years, each of the remaining Five Nations – plus all those other regions that gained independance during the century of war – are still fighting each other behind the scenes. No matter the field – be that economic might, political influence, natural ressoures, or magical power – every nation actively works to gain the upper hand on its rivals and neighbours. Mercenaries can still find work as easily as they did during the Last War, and trades of sabotage and espionage have never been more thriving.
And even for the common folk, the end of the war doesn’t exactly mean peace. Everyone has lost people who were dear to them, and a hundred year of bitter enmity cannot disappear overnight. Anywhere you may go, the conflicts, the anger, and the pain still remain.
Furthermore, most will agree that the inevitable next war is just around the corner. How many years this will take may be up to debate, but the end result will be war all the same. For some, the name of the game is simply to be a length ahead of everyone else when the war does strike. And what better place to play the game than the former capital city of Thronehold?
