The Triumvirate

Many centuries ago, there was a stretch of days; one-thousand days in which the world burned. Demon, devil and chromatic dragon fought against metallic dragons and the angels of good for the ultimate prize. In the midst of the battle, a gigantic egg which contained a fledgling god cracked.

Fayell, the world whispered.

The dragon gods, Tiamat and Bahamut, soared with the greatest speed to reach the egg in time and save or corrupt their sibling god. The two clashed with a mighty slam that sent the armies below reeling. The struggle was legendary, but Tiamat was not alone; Lolth, Orcus and Bane also stalked the field and crushed the forces of good without hesitation. When the three had reached the cracked egg they saw a baby dragon, barely aware of its surroundings.

From above Bahamut saw the evil deities enter his sibling’s mind and introduce the taint they each shared. With the fury of absolute anger, he struck a dazing blow to Tiamat and threw her from the heavens, then turned and unleashed his radiant breath upon all below. The shafts of light that poured from his mouth severed the ground into millions of fragments, splitting the great continent into many and killing all who fought, except for his most hated enemies.

The newborn deity was dead.
