Soft featured and boyishly handsome, more like “a cute skunk” was how Uncle Kahaal described him with the purest of white fur, streaked with long, black hair.

Backstory

Forty-seven years ago a Fey bard happened through Muan Oasis. None had seen him before, and none since. The bard entertained the few locals and was repaid with food and lodging for the night. In the morning, when everyone awoke, he was already gone.

Quinvera‘s mother had been a serving girl at the sooq, where the bard performed (this was in the days before Arishka’s) and there were none who saw her dance that night who were surprised to hear that she was pregnant. But the rumors abound; did she go willingly with the handsome fairy? Or was she enchanted against her will?

Fey-kissed pregnancies can be very difficult upon Mortal women. Quinvera’s mother was plagued by crippling dreams throughout her pregnancy, dreams of war and battle, and of pain and conflict that drove her insane before the child was delivered. She never survived the birth, and Quinvera was brought into the world amid the death of her mother.

Quinvera was taken in by her Aunt and Uncle (and their 20-year old son, Kahaal) who raised her as if she were their own child. They forbid any talk of Quin’s father, but Kahaal whispered what little he knew and remembered regarding the mysterious bard.

Unknown.

Quin has never heard anything from her father. He may be alive or dead, near or far. Does he even know that he had a daughter? Quin has no way of knowing.
