Dear Father,
I hope this letter finds you well. Hopefully, they have sorted the rat problem out by now and you will be able to sleep more peacefully. Please accept my full hearted apologies for not writing more recently but, being in the service of a goddess even one as bright and loving as Selahine keeps me very busy.
I have been travelling a lot in order to keep ahead of the crowds, a feeling I am sure you are familiar with. The good news is that I no longer travel alone. The bad news, not all my travelling companions see things in the same light as I. They did not understand why I needed to kill the farmer for an act of infidelity while allowing the milk maid he was with to live. Nor do they understand my preference of not killing “evil” creatures on sight. I believe they may have me confused with some mythical Paladin of old.
One of my companions is a woman after your own heart I am happy to say. An intelligent beauty with charm and grace befitting the highest noble and the gutter mouth of the most misbegotten street urchin (all depending on the requirements of the task at hand I am happy to say).
I hope that despite your current predicament that you will be glad to hear I have not let your lessons slip from my mind (although I am rather at a loss as to where to find new tools, having recently misplaced mine within something called a mimic). I still endeavour to make the children happier and richer at the expense of their parents.
I am tithing regularly to Our Lady though obviously not always at the same temple and not always with coin.
Have you heard from mother at all? I know I ask each time I write and you always answer no but, I can not help but, hold out hope that this time the answer will be yes.
I hope you understand, I will be unable to return to the city for a time yet due to that rather unfortunate incident with Muriel and the wedding. I simply could not marry a woman I did not love and hope that someday her family will come to understand this.
May the glare of the sun not blind you to the moon’s beauty,
Delamor
