No Evil Characters. Characters to be generated using 20 Point Buy, base stat line 10, max stat 18 before racial adjustments (High Fantasy), max starting cash. Players are assumed to have read both the Rise of the Runelords Players Guide and the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition Players Guide and therefore be at least passingly familiar with the setting.
Players are also allowed to select one character traits for their character from the list of campaign traits in the Basic Traits list in the Advanced Player’s Guide. A second background character trait must be selected from the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition Players Guide or the list of additional traits found in the campaign wiki. Traits should match player character background and the DM reserves the right to deny traits if necessary. Players who change character midway through the campaign will not gain the benefit of the background Character Trait.
Characters should be cleared with GM prior to the campaign. Players participating in this Rise of the Runelords campaign are either Sandpoint natives or have reason to be in Sandpoint to participate during the annual Swallowtail Festival.
Additional Note – In the interest of gameplay and DM sanity, players should try to keep summoned critters, animal companions, zombie hordes, etc to a minimum. Followers are a DM bonus. Leadership is a reward rather than an entitlement.
