Kalpavriksha was orphaned at a young age, but that hardly slowed her down. She learned mental duelling by contact with other street gangs on the rooftops of Sigil and came to love the adventurous rakish lifestyle that accompanied success. Unfortunately, she was less enamoured with the falls and scrapes that inevitably followed, and while she was considered a commanding personality, she was abrasive and secretive and found it difficult to keep friends around for very long. That she has a second pupil in her right eye which often reveals the future of those around her didn’t help.
While injured or in hiding, which was often, she took to staying with the various faction houses and smaller temples of Sigil, learning all kinds of strange and obscure lore while enduring moralistic lessons. It was while at one such temple that she beheld a vision of her ultimate fate, and in her effort to avoid it she has taken to faith. She now has a mission to acquire all kinds of obscure lore, in particular rituals and things relating to undeath.
Kalpavriksha has become convinced of the common Tiefling belief of innate evil, that all Tieflings must accept or atone for the crime of being born before meeting their end. More than anything, she seeks to confront her destiny head on as befits a heroic duellist…
