This is to post the characters we’ll be using during the game, both PCs and NPCs.

I see you’ve become an Ascendant member. Nice.

Ok, below are Toru’s goals:

• Toru seeks to find Samyuk, brother to his betrothed, Bellara, who was lost during an avalanche while Toru was in charge of Samyuk’s patrol.
• Toru burns with the desire to bring shame to Captain Makado, who prevented Toru from saving Samyuk and had Toru court-martialed for disobeying orders.
• Toru hopes to win back the love of his betrothed by bringing her brother home safely.

As far as characters that Toru would hire, he would want to get a rogue and a fighter. Will these be NPCs? How much leeway would I have in creating a back story if they are NPCs?

I would pick a rogue to start with. I’m thinking a street urchin type. Perhaps
I had to reclaim my military lance from where it was impounded and the
urchin saw me and threatened to report me to the authorities. Once I
explained where I was going, the urchin wanted to tag along to find gold for
whatever reason he/she needs the gold (perhaps Looter background). Toru
would see it as the lesser or two evils to bring the urchin along and watch
over them rather than have them go off on their own.

I see this as being a tie that he takes grudgingly, but that it could change
over time. Toru would be protective and stand-offish and under utilize the
urchin’s skills until he is forced to realize the urchin is quite capable of
doing certain things.

BTW, Google translates “street urchin” as 浮浪児, pronounced Furō-ji.

Thoughts? Did I go too far?

2. Furoji is not really the orphan she plays at being, she’s run away from
home.
