Jaq Joined the Scout Service straight out of High School. Her skill and charm worked to her advantage, and she worked hard to be tough and yet still be able to dress up and look nice. She is rarely surprised and her head remains “on a swivel” as they say, maintaining a high state of situational awareness. She is of average height and build, is ambidextrous, and generally well able to handle herself. She is capable in many areas and has a way of putting people off their guard. She favors gauss weapons but qualified expert with sub-machine guns. Jaq served 5 terms with the scouts and is currently working with the Imperial Consul on Cypress.

In the 3rd and 4th terms of her career as a Scout, she performed a mission so vital that it brought her to the attention of the Emperor, himself. The mission covered 4 years and involved great personal sacrifice and was of such importance that it remains classified in such a way that only the Supreme Commander of the IISS, the Emperor himself and a handful of others know what the situation was (Game Mechanics wise, this started out as 2 regular missions followed by 2 Special Missions). As a result of this mission, Jaq was made a Knights Commander of the Honorable Order of the Emperor’s Guard. She was also, at that time, offered a position with the Emperor’s Own Imperial Guard, a position which she would acceptnear the end of her 5th term. While this appointment is a matter of public record, it was not publicized at the time and the powers that be have been keeping it under wraps to secure Jaq’s current mission in the Marches. Her current mission is as an independant operative seeking intelligence and opportunity against the Guild and the Black Ships.

Narrative: Jaq entered the scouts right out of her high school/secondary education module. While she was used to the rough and tumble live on Vestus, she is given an opportunity to work with an instructor to gain some skill with bladed weapons. Her progress satisfactory, she is set out and performed admirably in several contact missions before her term was up.

Having proven herself on several notable missions, she was recruited to the Special Operations Branch. Early in this term, Jaq had a whirlwind romance with a a young Naval fighter pilot [Name redacted per Scout Yancy’s Request]. The romance ended during a mission when his fighter went down. Jaq was on the bridge at the time and due to diplomatic tensions with the planetary governor at the time, a rescue mission was not mounted. The young pilot’s calls could be heard for days before they were suddenly silenced during an eruption of a nearby volcano. A few years later, another pilot would go down under similar circumstances and Jaq would take a fast boat without asking for permission, risking interstellar war, to recover the pilot. While it angered the hell out of the Fleet Admiral who left the system without them, it impressed the hell out of Special Ops command, not to mention the pilot, Garet Jax. On their own for much longer than either of them had anticipated, Jaq had to learn from the autodoc how to care for Garet’s wounds, eventually gaining skill in Medic. Even though they were considered Lost in Space, SOC kept her on the active rolls and reenlisted her automatically as her term lapsed during their absense.

When they finally made it to a scout base, Although he had healed of his injuries, Garet was treated for lingering problems from the crash. Jaq was debriefed and immediately sent back out on an important surveillance mission. The Surveillance mission was such a success that a follow on mission was launched and Jaq was in the middle of it all. It was during this mission that she learned something that turned her stomach. SOC was in it up to their proverbial eyeballs, too. This mission involved great personal sacrifice and was of such importance that it remains classified in such a way that only the Supreme Commander of the IISS, the Emperor himself and a handful of others know what the situation was. At the conclusion of the mission, Jaq was presented to the Emperor. After her knighting ceremony, she discreetly advised His Imperial Royalness of the moral decay in his own Scout’s Special Operations Command. Because it was no longer safe for her, she immediately transferred out of Special Branch and into the Exploration Arm of the Scouts, often out on long duration missions all alone, which at the time suited her. It was time to take a break from the bureaucracy. With all the time in the Black, Jaq was able to put together a helpful field manual for young scouts. It was well received and at her mustering out ceremony, it was announced that it would become the next Academy textbook on the subject. She was also made a Knights Commander of the Honorable Order of the Emperor’s Guard and offered a position with the Emperor’s Own Imperial Guard. She currently fills double duty, serving as a member of the Emperor’s Own and as a Scout on Detached Duty. One thing about the Scouts… you never really get out.
