Treacherous Times is the story of House Blackcliff, a minor house in the inhospitable mountains surrounding the Vale of Arryn. The main protagonists are Thornton Blackcliff (the young and compassionate heir to Blackcliff lands who is almost a man grown), his language teacher Dominika (a voluptuous middle-aged Bravossi woman) and his bodyguard and weapons trainer Miroslav who has a well deserved reputation for brutality.

The story is one of Thornton’s rise to power, and the fortunes of house Blackcliff as they play the game of thrones.
