Ice’s family fled to the Eldeen Reaches a few steps ahead of the zealots of the Silver Flame. They lived peacefully in ranchlands of Eldeen and two children were born there; Ice and his sister Mara. The peace was short-lived, however. (Background: Eldeen Reaches)
In violation of Aundair sovreignty, Silver Flame crusaders from Thrane, crossed Aundair and brought fire and steel to the shifter villages of the Eldeen Reaches. Ice’s grandmother fled with Ice and Mara into the deep woods. They were saved, but the rest of the family were salughtered by the crusaders. (Background: Shifter Persecution)
Ice and Mara grew up roaming the deep woods and learning how to speak with the primal spirits from their grandmother, an accomplished Shaman. Ice developed a deep and abiding love for the forests of the world and he will passionately protect them. (Background: Geography – Forest)
Two years ago Ice was hunting in lands controlled by the Druid Circle of Eldeen. He took a sacred stag and was granted the knowledge of binding spirits to his arrows by the freed spirit of the stag. Unfortunately for Ice, the stag had been prepared for a working by the Druid Circle and he was banished from the lands under the Circle’s authority. (Background: Primal Renegade)
Ice spent the next year or so as a hunter and trapper along the Breland/Droam border. About 3 months ago he was stalking a wolf through a stand of woods when he heard voices coming from a nearby clearing. He snuck close to the clearing and overheard a local noble telling a priest of the Silver Flame that he would grant several hides of the woodland around the clearing to the church in exchange for the church’s help in getting him out of his current marriage. When the priest agreed and began discussing plans to sell the timbers from clearing the forest, Ice determined to put a stop to the plan. He made the mistake of approaching the nobleman directly and threatening to reveal his plans to put aside his wife. Unfortunately for the unsophisticated Ice, he didn’t understand how much control over the legal system a noble could assert. He was arrested and, in a closed trial, convicted of extortion and sentenced to a work gang.
