The younger sister of Saryena, Kiphan Alvison’s late wife, Demetria has spent the last 14 years helping to raise her dead sister’s daughter. The only mother figure that Aryanna Alivison has ever known. She also runs the trading post in Northshore Landing, where her niece assists with organizing inventory as it arrives.

For her faithful duty to Aryanna, she is allowed to have quarters in Alvison Keep, though it’s known by everyone that Kiphan is rarely seen in her presence; a cold unspoken distance between the two of them. Rumor has it that she reminds him too much of his late wife, and he can’t bear to look upon her without weeping.

In secret, Demetria blames Kiphan for the death of her sister. She keeps the secret about her sister’s death, and the birth of her niece, but acting as a midwife for her sister’s birthing, she was present during the final conversations between Saryena and Kiphan, and knows the whole story. Whenever the two are in the same room, an almost palpable tension fills the air, and the two avoid each others gaze.
