Description
He is quiet short for a Goliath standing only 7’3”, but he is extremely muscular and thickly set and weighs in at just 1 lb under 25 stone. Krall’s skin is mostly an laurel green shade with dark swirling patterns and patches of a darker shade of green called myrtle all over his body. His skin is covered in a great many lithoderms, these are coin sized bone and skin growths which are as hard as pebbles. The soles of his feet, hands and lips are a lighter shade of tea green. He has eyes of brilliant emerald green which seem to glow beneath his thick jutting forehead & eyebrow ridge.
A hardy individual Krall wears little in the way of clothing and the minimum of armour so that everyone can see his markings and read his destiny.
Items
Krall wears black scale mail armour. although this is medium in size it is short in both arm and leg for Krall allowing him to display his markings. fastened to his shoulders is a large white fur cloak which he collected on his first journey to the Ko-Lan Fell mountains (known to humans incorrectly because of Dwarven lies as the Hammercrag Fell). In his hand he grasps an overly long halberd with a wickedly sharp and dark heavy blade engraved with runes that are picked out with dark red enamel. When Krall despatches his opponents the runes flare a brilliant crimson. The haft of the halberd is bound alternately with black iron and steel giving a secure grip whilst also strengthening the haft for the purposes of parrying.
Personality
Like all Goliaths’ he is competitive and will attempt to create competition out of any activity. although he does not need to win all the time, or at any cost he does not abide cheats and liars, and may react badly to those that try and cheat him.
Krall still holds a grudge and lasting enmity towards all dwarves for their attempts to steal from his people, especially for killing an envoy who had been sent to open discussions with them.
History
Krall grew up within a closed community of Goliaths’ living in tunnels and upon the steep slopes of Mount Gantalick in the Klavaki Highlands. Since learning the oral history of his people he has desired to see the northern mountains of Ko-Lan Fell which pierce the clouds with their jagged tips, once the homeland of the Goliath race.
When faced with his trial of adulthood at the age of 15 he demonstrated the skills and abilities that the Goliaths’ treasure, rock jumping, the scaling of the mountains great west glacier of Ko-Lan Fell that were once the homeland of his people. His recall of the clans’ histories, lineage and achievements were also exemplary. however instead of selecting a future mate he declared that first he would travel to their homeland to battle the servants of the frost titan that had thrown them out.
The clan chief and his parent attempted to dissuade him but he was set upon his course and could not back down without loosing face before the whole community.
Krall set forth for Ko-Lan Fell and in his first battle in the mountains of his homeland was badly injured by a great white bear, a great scar runs from his left hip to his knee. He struggled to survive living for weeks within a hole in the snow surviving on the meat of the creature that had so badly mauled him. having learned his lesson Krall eventually set off to learn more of combat and the skills he would need to slay a giant and return to his home, and select a mate. He left the mountains wearing a new white fur cloak.
Whilst travelling in the jungles of the east out of boredom he befriended a spider monkey, feeding it daily with fruit from his rations it followed him for several days. Krall throught little of his travelling companion until in the early hours of the 3rd morning the monkey woke him. The silence of the jungle was un-nerving, as Krall gathered his belongings a large reptilian beast stalked along the trail he had been sleeping on just moments before. Moving to the side of the animals path gripping his halberd with all his strengh he was able to swing at its legs as it passed. A mighty blow knocked the creature from its feet. The reptile sprang upwards towards him raking his side with its claws, but on landing again fell as its leg collapsed beneath it. Not allowing it to rise Krall delivered a great blow to the monstrous creatures head, severing its jaw and killing it immediatly. The beast’s tooth adorns a a thong made from its sinews. The monkey, now called Rex has been his companion ever since.
Colouration
Skin: Kralls’ skin is laurel green in colour, which may be seen by some as a shade of green with distinct grey overtones.
In swirling shapes across his skin are dark patterns which are said to foretell his destiny and his past.
His skin is not smooth like that of other races, he has Lithoderms which are small coin sized lumps that stand out from the surface and are as hard as stone.
The palms of his hands and souls of his feet are of a lighter colour than that of the rest of his skin.
Krall has no visible hair upon his body as do all male Goliath’s as this is a female trait only.
