Cybernetics
This is a list of cybernetics that look like they’ll be useful to consider, at their best-use levels. You /can/ get a lot more zoom on the eyes, but binoculars will work better if you need zoom past 5×. I didn’t bother to include the Cyberlimbs because CDP spent on CQs will serve you better, and if we get to where we need the Vocal Adaptation Module, we’re either doing things very wrong, or very, very right. All told, we could all outfit ourselves with these and not much impinge on the Ascension levels we’re likely to reach during the game itself.
Quinn might not really be badly off to pick up Exoplating with Nik and Astarte, just as a thought. Even Kairess might consider it. +3 to all DTs is a pretty hefty bonus.
‘Fully Functional’ cybereyes
Default: 1000T
5x zoom, scope: 1500T
Low-light: 600T
Flash Suppression: 450T
Infrared: 1400T
Recording: 300T
Total: 5250T
Impurity: 1
These cybereyes provide +2 to visual Detection, 5x optical zoom, scope function, low-light and infrared sight, immunity to flashbangs, strobes, and the likes, and video recording to internal memory.
Fully-upgraded cyberears
Level 2: 2800T
Imp. Frequency: 300T
Directional: 500T
Sound filtering: 650T
Recording: 270T
Total: 4520T
Impurity: 2
These cyberears provide +4 to all hearing-based Detection checks and Balance checks, let sounds be detected at 25% normal audible volume, can pick up roughly twice the frequency range of normal human hearing, +1 to Direction checks involving hearing, lets you filter sound to pick up specific sounds from background noises (like conversation), and can record sound to internal storage.
Exoplating
Cost: 6800T
Impurity: 8
+3 to all personal DTs. What more need be said?
DNI Netwire ‘Wi-Fi LAN’
Cost: 7800T
Impurity: 1
Lets you access the Net and Net-enabled devices within a fair distance of you.
DNI PAN-only ‘Bluetooth’
Cost: 5500T
Impurity: 1
Allows you to access enabled devices in your direct presence, and other nearby objects via intermediary devices. Functions roughly like built-in bluetooth.
Full EMP Resist
Level 3: 2400T
Impurity: 3
+6 to Resist checks against EMPs, and you recover from EMP shutdown 90 seconds faster. Astarte should seriously consider this, in my opinion.
Cyber-Memory
2 TB: 3000T
Impurity: 1
Sufficient memory to store, according to the book, 600 hours of high-quality video. Additional memory is 1500T per TB.
Forearm Blades
Regular: 500T
Plastion: 1000T
Impurity: 2
Raises unarmed damage to 1D6 damage. Plastiron doesn’t show on most security scans, so you’d always be ‘armed’ with that. Doubt anyone’ll be much interested, but it’s here for completion’s sake.
Torso Sleeve
Cost: 2150T
Impurity: 2
Adds +2 DT against Melee Kinetic and +1 against High Velocity Kinetic. Stacks with Exoplating, apparently. If we really need to be able to shrug off brawler damage…
Cyber-Lung
Level 3: 7350T
Impurity: 6
+6 to Condition, Vitality, and Resist checks against airborne toxins and pathogens. Not a bad deal, for those who need to worry about it. Not sure how it’d work for an AI, but nothing says you can’t get it if you are one. Maybe it improves your internal cooling systems and such?
Moved this from the Wiki page Kassil created.
Also, the biological augmentations might not be a bad idea. The Ultra-Lung is Impurity 2, and gives us fleshbags immunity to Potency 3 or less airborne threats, plus the ability to breathe underwater for 6450T. Kairess might enjoy the Charisma-boosting one – 3 Impurity and 2700T for a +6 Charisma and three die steps to everything else involved with it. Quinn and Nik could both benefit from the Int-booster, since Energy is based on that – three extra die steps and potential lower training costs for 3600T and 3 Impurity isn’t a bad deal at all.
Obviously, the Cyber-Lung and Ultra Lung are mutually exclusive as they both replace your lungs.
