Luminiferous Ether Detection Goggles are the unique creation of Sterling Simms. They allow the wearer to see any luminiferous ether in the area (i.e., magical auras). The key component of the goggles are the ghost rock-infused lenses. When powered by an electrical current from the two small capacitors found on either side of the goggles, the lenses are able to detect luminiferous ether. Because the view through the lenses must be correctly interpreted by the wearer, a Weird Science roll is required to properly use the goggles instead of a Notice roll. To recharge the capacitors, the goggles may be connected to a small, hand-cranked electrical generator. Recharging the small capacitors requires a slow trickle charge, so it is not a speedy process: 20 hours are required to fully charge the goggles when completely depleted.
