Bio
Colem Thunderhead is Flailius’s other partner and his older brother. He revealed that he is a veteran of many wars in the Protectorate. He also has a knack for acquiring orphans(Nigel the Orphan, Lad, Dru Lightheart) and incorporating them into his family business. He also enjoys naming his Inns and Taverns with innuendo.
The party first encounters Flailius at his inn in Ostia called the Horny Dragon. He hires them to help him get supplies to a mine of his, ran by Forgone Stoneshear, and then to escort that ore back to Ostia. The town and mine were attacked by orcs being led by Arogron and Dorgon forcing Flailius to guard the town and the party to track those down to stave off the attack. This gave time for Nigel to return to Ostia and get assistance from the garrison.
Flailius then has the party guide the ore back while he goes to meet with the buyer. Even though the shipment was stolen by Captain Tarn, Grame Foulsbane, and Smilin’ Jack, the party was able to get it to Ostia in time for Flailius to meet the buyer. As a reward for the party’s skill he sells them shares of his business at a discount rate.
Through Colem, Flailius has the party deliver a letter to a solicitor in Lear by the name of Barnabus. The party learns that he and Autumn Pharin have been making a deal to free Pharin holdings from control of Baron Veritas and Dominous Pharin. When Mikhail Pharin confronts Flailius about this issue. He admits he began it because Pharin seemed like a nice guy and not the type of man to kill his father. He also states that it was a good business deal.
When Flailius learns the party might be traveling to Edge to find Nightroot and to learn about what happened to Armand Veritas, he recommends that the party seek out Silus Dark. He states that Silus is a black market merchant and would know of any underhanded dealings. Flailius cautions them not to trust him and that Flailius typically avoids dealing with Silus.
After freeing the Three Rivers from the rule of Count Kellenbrand the party has Doran Grey send a message to Flailius asking for him to meet them at Three River Falls. Flailius has arrived in Three River Falls and is in the process of rebuilding the Inn and the Tavern. Flailius also assisted Doran in defending the towns people from both bandits and slavers. He tracked their location for the party.
