Bio

At first glance, Iaera merely looks like a relatively exotic human, a common misconception she does little to discourage. In truth, she is an aasimar, a being descended from celestial ancestors. A learned scholar in the subject might identify her silver hair and eyes and fair complexion as evidence of being descended from a deva, one of the more common varieties of aasimon [sic].

Like many aasimar, Iaera has chosen the path of the paladin. She prefers to eschew the usual stereotype of a crusading zealot or loud-mouthed proselytizer, however, and instead devotes herself more quietly to the cause of goodness. She prefers mercy and kindness to the sword, although she is not afraid to use the latter when required. The undead in particular are a target for her wrath, and she displays a natural affinity for channelling positive energy to that end.

Socially, Iaera tends toward modesty and humility, and rarely seeks to draw attention to herself. When travelling, she typically makes use of her weathered cloak and rugged gear to conceal her exotic appearance. She does have a pragmatic side, however, and though she displays little in the way of greed she isn’t above accepting payment now and then; such monies are regarded as investments in the cause of goodness itself.

Her equipment reflects that practical mindset, and she is garbed accordingly. Beneath her cloak is a heavy raiment of warrior’s mail, complete with tabard, with an arming sword dangling at her hip. A small axe and a bow round out her arsenal, ensuring she is always prepared for battle even if she prefers to avoid it. Her kit sports a shovel, rope, and various items an adventurer needs, looking as much like a spelunker as a warrior. Curiously, a sturdy chain is also coiled around her sword-belts.
