The sky was dark and it was filled with stars. In the middle of the woods there was an individual sitting on a log in front of a campfire. His face and body was covered by tattered blue cloak. It was evident that the cloak was mistreated; stains of dry blood and burns surrounded the tapestry.

The fire crackled as the individual lifted the cloak and revealing his face. He looked young in his late 20’s, his hair was crimson red and his eyes gave the impression that he was fatigued. The individual looked at his breath, which looked like white smoke. It was a chilly night and he huddled as close as he can to the camp fire.

The individual looked at the person in front of him and stated “You asked me when was the start of all this. I honestly don’t know when the wheels of fate began to turn. Everything that seemed important became irrelevant and everything irrelevant now seems important. But I guess I should start from the begging”

“I was born and raised under the name of Ryan Silverleaf on an island called Abingdon. The island was pretty big and at the time it seemed like it was the whole world. I was raised in the outskirts of the city where most of the wealthy people resided. You see in Abingdon, money controlled everything. The most powerful person in the island is the CEO of a corporation known as Everglobe. It is local history, that Everglobe raised to power after the catastrophe. They controlled the only area in which Veridium was present and steadily expanded to control all the commerce and resources. When the government could not afford a military, Everglobe bought out the military and that is when they really took over".

“It is true that we have a civilian government and there is an election, but the real power lies in Everglobe. Even if people elect politicians, the reality is that is a show to make the public feel good. Everglobe controls the economy and the military. The military is divided by two sections, the regular military and “red coats”. The red coats were known for their unique red uniforms. These soldiers were the elite and handpicked they only answer to the board directly and they have military immunity, which mean that while wearing their red uniforms they are above the law.”

The individual telling the story smiled and continued with his story “I remember when I was 15, there was this girl named Susan, she was brunette, tall and slender we used to hang around all day. I thought I was going to marry her. We used to be in dance together, t I remember telling her that I was going to be in the red coats and become a war hero like Aures."

“I enlisted at the age of 18. I entered officer training school of Evergrlobe. With the help of my best friend Matt, we were able to survive that hell together. I majored in history and theology. Once we graduated we were given choices to our placement. We both selected the same assignment. At the time Aures wanted to have a squad of 2 to 3 soldiers under his command. This squad will handle top secret mission. At the time we were grateful and believed that we were serving a just cause."

“When I met my teenage war hero, the reality was not what I envisioned. He was ruthless, cunning but most of all blood thirsty. It became evident that he became a war hero not trough values but rather his ability to kill quickly and efficiently. Our relationship had an abrupt end at the veridium processing plant mission."

“We were sent to investigate a veridium processing plant, we have received reports that “Government Loyalist” were going to try and destroy the plant. Our mission was simple to stop them. During the mission we learned, that the whole mission was a lie from Donald. None of the evidence made sense; the real mission was to kill the rich outskirt for two reasons: first, to create hatred towards the loyalist and second to eliminate potential political and economical enemies for Everglobe.”

“Then I saw it firsthand the carnage of a “legendary hero”. During the slaughter I noticed that Susan was in the crowd. I just could not kill her even if it was ordered. Matt was also uncomfortable with the entire thing. That is when we both acted, we attacked Aures with little hope of survival.”

“Even though Matt and I were well trained, we stood little chance against Aures. Aures killed Matt in the middle of the battle and almost killed me. I remember waking up in the hospital 2 months later and hearing about Matt’s death. Susan also visited me at the hospital.”

“After a full recovery, Everglobe promoted me to Captain and gave me a red coat. However I was appointed another mission. The new mission was to lead an expedition of archeologists to a “pocket” outside the island. Discovered by accident, Everglobe believed that the temple had some connections to the catastrophe. Also reports indicated that the temple belong to a old goddess called Iomedae.”

“After a Month of preparation, we took a boat for the “pocket”. When we arrived the scientist and archeologist confirmed that the temple was for Iomedae. Furthermore, there was statue of her holding a bright long sword. In the middle of the investigation I touched the statute and the blade magically appeared in my hand. Scientist could not get carbon date to see how old the blade was, but that was the least of our concern."

“We were attacked by mercenaries. They were highly trained, as the only soldier in the room, it was my obligation to defend my crew. As the mercenaries entered, I quickly took a defensive position inside the chamber were the statute of the blade resided. Even though I tried my best, I was quickly defeated. In a desperation I held the sword of the statute and everything turned black.”

“I awoke with serious injuries at a monastery where some monks took care of me. They told me that I appeared in the monastery with the sword at hand all injured. They explain to me that the sword had a special aura around it.”

“For two years I was trained to be a Monk to discovery my purpose and whom I am. I didn’t know much, but I figure that my destiny was in this sword.”

“I spent the last years in the library trying to find more information, eventually I was to find out about the sword and how did my position became compromised at the temple.”
