“History is spread by song, not text.”
This couldn’t be more true to Arick. His fascination with bardic music and tales inspired him to become one himself. His mother however, didn’t want to lose her only child and wouldn’t let him adventure. His dad however, approved and trained him to sword fight and how to cast magic. Arick learned how to harness bardic magic through a flute from a travelling bard his dad paid to tutor him. One day, a merchant caravan stopped by his small village and needed a helping hand. Arick gladly took the opportunity as an excuse to leave town. The night before his departure, his dad gave him a gift, a sword forged to play music as graceful as the flute and to be as reliable in combat as a longsword. With his flutesword in sheath and heartfelt goodbye, he left his parents and left town.
It wasn’t long before he got more then he asked for.
